About Us

Surge 4 Democracy was born out of a quiet realization—and a powerful awakening.

For many years, like millions of Americans, our founder believed politics happened somewhere else. That it was something other people dealt with, something that didn’t affect her daily life. Like the majority of Americans, she grew up in a working-class household. She believed in hard work, fairness, and staying out of the political fray.

But when Roe v. Wade was overturned, something shifted. For the first time, it felt personal. It felt like the ground had moved—and the rights and freedoms she’d taken for granted were suddenly up for grabs.

She realized that if we wait for someone else to fix things, nothing changes. That democracy doesn’t just defend itself. And that silence—especially in the face of injustice—isn’t neutrality. It’s surrender.

That’s why Surge 4 Democracy was created. It’s not just a political organization. It’s a call to action for ordinary people who’ve had enough. For those who’ve stayed on the sidelines but know, deep down, that the time to act is now.

We are mothers and fathers. Workers and students. Veterans and small business owners. We are people who never thought we’d be “political”—until we saw what happens when we’re not.

This is our moment to surge. To organize. To speak out. To build a better future—together.
